Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer to develop and maintain MBSE models for the Launch Support System using Cameo Enterprise Architecture. You will drive requirements decomposition and ensure traceability from SOW through implementation, working across architecture, design, and verification teams.

The role requires a US citizen with an active Secret Clearance and 2+ years in modeling with Cameo, plus 3+ years in Systems Engineering; DoDAF/UPDM/UAF experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval.
  • At least 2 years of modeling experience with Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with DoDAF and UPDM or UAF Profiles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain MBSE models for the Launch Support System (LSS) in Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, and analytical).
  • Lead requirements decomposition, derivation, and flow-down across the specification tree into LSS architecture and design.
  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities for LSS, including integration, test, and field operations.
  • Perform technical planning; develop, decompose, and verify system requirements; and lead stakeholder and peer technical reviews.
  • Manage LSS requirements in DOORS and coordinate with design, test, and IPT counterparts.
  • Prepare and present LSS materials and model-based artifacts for Flight Test Design Reviews.
  • Develop and refine model-based techniques, procedures, and processes.
  • Demonstrate strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with ethics and integrity.

What You’ll Get To Do
  • Develop and maintain MBSE models for the Launch Support System (LSS) in Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, and analytical), driving model consistency and traceability
  • Lead requirements decomposition, derivation, and flow-down across the specification tree into LSS architecture and design, ensuring full traceability from SOW through implementation
  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities for LSS, including integration, test, and field operations, ensuring requirements are objectively demonstrated
  • Perform technical planning; develop, decompose, and verify system requirements; and lead stakeholder and peer technical reviews of LSS engineering documentation and model content
  • Manage LSS requirements in DOORS and coordinate closely with design, test, and other IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts
  • Prepare and present LSS materials and model-based artifacts for Flight Test Design Reviews and process changes through engineering review boards
  • Develop and refine model-based techniques, procedures, and processes to improve model development, tool integration, and team integration
  • Demonstrate strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills while modeling ethics and integrity and collaborating effectively across the program
Basic Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).

Principal Systems Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with PhD
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Required For Both Levels
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • At least 2 years experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
  • 3 years of experience must be in Systems Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant Cameo Experience with regards to modeling and governance
  • Experience with DoDAF and UPDM or UAF Profiles
  • Experience using DOORS (IBM Rational)
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
