Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal / Sr Principal Industrial Engineer for the Systems Test Team in Vandenberg, CA. You will apply IE concepts to scheduling, capacity analysis, and shop floor layouts while coordinating with multiple sites and leadership. A strong data analysis background is preferred.

Requirements include U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain SAP approval.

This position will be located in Vandenberg, CA.What You’ll Get To Do:This role will support Industrial Engineering activities for the Systems Test Team (STT). The preferred candidate will be an individual with a bias for action, strategic thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, exceptional customer focus, communications, and a sound foundation in Industrial Engineering concepts, with an expertise in scheduling, manpower, and facility layouts. General skills and expectations within the role include:Key Responsibilities:• Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals (Production Intervals, Cycle Time, Takt Time, Standard Hour Content, Time Studies, EVMS, Continuous Improvement, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Facility Layouts)• Responsible for tracking hardware deliveries and maintaining detailed schedules and metrics to report status to upper leadership• Develop and maintain SQDEC (Schedule, Quality, Delivery, Employee, Cost) Boards with various metrics on a daily basis.• Understand principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)• Knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain• Understand labor standard development and work measurement. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
