Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer to lead operations engineering in a manufacturing setting. You will monitor labor, manage capacity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a secure environment.

Requires a STEM degree, 5 years (or 3 years with a Master’s) of Operations/Manufacturing experience, and U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of experience in Operations Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Master’s degree in Science, Engineering or related STEM field with 3 years of experience in Operations Engineering or Manufacturing.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required; active Secret clearance preferred or ability to obtain.

• Monitor labor performance and develop plans for improvement.
• Monitor capital resource loading and develop capacity management plans.
• Define and document process designs (product routings).
• Lead Continuous Improvement activities (e.g., 5-S, VSM, 6-Sigma).
• May establish accident prevention measures and manage training programs for personnel.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
