Job description

Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer (T02 level) / Principal Engineer (T03 level)

Location: Roy, Utah
Department: Defense Systems
Program: Sentinel

What you'll get to do
  • Perform decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocate them to design teams for implementation.
  • Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next‑generation ICBM weapon system.
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems.
  • Evaluate the physical security design based on Department of Defense Safety manuals.
  • Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems.
  • Use model‑based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design.
  • Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance.
  • Start date contingent upon clearance; must be active to start.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period.
  • Experience with any of the following tools: DOORs, Cameo, TeamCenter, Code Analysis/Fuzzing Tools.
  • For T‑02 level: Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline and 2 years of experience, plus 1 year with a Master's degree.
  • For T‑03 level: Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Master's degree; 1 year with a Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in nuclear, electrical, or software engineering.
  • Active SAP (Sentinel) clearance.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or experience.
  • Software Engineering degree or experience.
  • Experience with Nuclear Surety.
