Job summary

Arctiq: Intelligent Architecture is seeking a Senior Microsoft Sentinel Engineer to implement and optimize Microsoft Sentinel environments for client deployments. You will work with clients and our managed services teams to design, deploy, and enhance Sentinel solutions across data connectors, workspaces, and detections.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in IT security, strong KQL skills, and experience with Azure Sentinel, Defender stack, and automation via Logic Apps.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and system administration.
• Proficient in KQL; Python or other scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

Arctiq is currently seeking a candidate to fulfill a role as a Senior Microsoft Sentinel Engineer. This position requires extensive experience in related IT security fields and a passion for continuous learning. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for working closely with our clients and our managed services to implement, manage, and improve Microsoft Sentinel environments. You will work on projects ensuring their successful execution and continued alignment to the overall business flow, system architecture, and data management direction. Additionally, you will work with the end-users and their management to determine and enhance business processes and workflows related to Microsoft Sentinel and be responsible for maintaining all assigned business documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Sentinel project delivery by defining, maintaining, and communicating systems requirements, solution approach & design, standards, and standardized methodologies across the enterprise.
• Architect and design Sentinel ingestion and integration architectures, including data connectors, workspace design, and cross-tenant/Lighthouse considerations.
• Develop and assist with creating requirements, identifying gaps, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies and opportunities for automation, including SOAR playbooks via Logic Apps.
• Track work and provide appropriate reporting.
• Act as an escalation point for customers and internal teams.
• Participate in the identification and analysis of use case implementations.
• Assist and lead as required cybersecurity initiatives.
• Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job outcomes.
• Process tickets; respond and resolve platform issues for Customers, as assigned.
• Stay updated on the latest security threats.
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications:

• Maintain courteous and professional conduct while performing the Services.
• Have a strong background working in the IT and IT Security arena.
• Experience deploying and managing Microsoft Sentinel environments, including workspace architecture, data connectors, and content management.
• A solid foundational understanding of networking principals, security best practices and systems administration is required.
• Security Experience: 5 or more years' experience in security.
• Compelling written and verbal communicator.
• Experience with KQL (Kusto Query Language) is required; Python or other scripting languages a plus.
• Experience writing Sentinel analytics rules, hunting queries, or similar detection logic.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Strong critical thinking and technical diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work in project teams and complete individual tasks in a timely manner.
• A sense of personal accountability.
• Experience with event/meeting coordinating.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated experience working in Information Security domains, with an understanding of an information security program, organization, requirements, deliverables, processes, tools, mindset.
• Familiarity with the broader Microsoft security stack (Defender XDR, Entra ID, Microsoft 365 Defender) is a plus.
