Job summary

International Flavors and Fragrances in New Jersey is seeking a sensory science specialist to lead descriptive sensory and consumer panels, plan studies, and analyze data.

Based on site in South Brunswick or Union Beach, this role supports C&D and PX Researchers, coordinates sample management, and travels between locations as needed. You will develop panel capabilities and contribute to continuous improvement in sensory research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related scientific field.
• 1–3 years in a lab environment; sensory lab experience preferred.
• Experience with sensory data collection platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead descriptive sensory and consumer panels, including recruitment, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Plan and oversee sensory panel activities to align priorities and timelines.
• Lead descriptive sensory evaluations and support methodology selection.
• Collaborate with C&D teams and PX Researchers to align testing objectives and provide feedback.
• Ensure product readiness and coordinate testing protocols and delivery requirements.
• Analyze sensory data, generate reports, and maintain study documentation.
• Coordinate consumer research studies with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain sensory databases and project documentation; support SOPs and continuous improvement.
• Coach and coordinate the Panel Assistant to build sensory capability across the organization.
