Apple Inc. in California seeks a highly technical Sensing Systems Engineer to design sensor constellations and frame system‑level trades for size, cost, power, and performance. You will collaborate with sensor module, hardware, product design, algorithm, and UX teams to optimize consumer electronics sensing solutions.
The role emphasizes cross‑functional teamwork, communication, and rigorous documentation, with a focus on camera, motion sensors, and related sensing technologies.

The people who work here have reinvented entire industries with the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, as well as with services, including iTunes, the App Store, Apple Music, and Apple Pay. And the same passion for innovation that goes into our products also applies to our practices — strengthening our commitment to leave the world better than we found it!
As a highly technical and motivated Sensing Systems Engineer, you possess a comprehensive understanding of cameras, motion sensors, and other sensing technologies. You are experienced in designing constellations of sensors that address the overall perceptual requirements of a system. You possess a deep understanding of how sensor choices impact system‑level features, and how system‑level requirements can in turn constrain sensing solutions. You have a keen sense of user experience as it is impacted by sensing strategy and can effectively communicate these complex trades. A key focus of your work will be to explore the design space of sense constellations and to frame and moderate the system‑level trades that optimize the product design in terms of product size, cost, power, and performance. This is a highly cross‑functional and interdependent role where you will collaborate with sensor module, hardware, product design, algorithm, and user experience teams on a regular basis.
