Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino seeks a Sensing Product Design Architecture Engineer to lead the architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of advanced sensing modules.

You will use FEA and analytical methods to drive design decisions that are robust across environments and manufacturing variations. As a senior member of the Architecture team, you will collaborate with multifunctional groups, articulate findings clearly, and steer decisions toward reliable sensing performance for Apple

Qualifications

  • Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of solid mechanics, materials science and heat transfer.
  • Experience with data-driven design, Monte Carlo, DoE and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience designing for high-volume consumer electronics/sensing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of sensing modules.
  • Identify and mitigate mechanical risks and design trade-offs via rigorous modeling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate design concepts and quantify performance.
  • Communicate complex results and recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive consensus on optimal architectural solutions.
