Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Sensing HW Data Collection Systems in Cupertino, CA. You will work with electrical, optical, firmware, and software teams to integrate new sensing technologies into data collection systems.

Responsibilities include defining technical requirements, prototyping, fabrication, and supporting low-volume manufacturing. Travel up to 20% may be required. Doctoral or MS in mechanical engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with analytical skills.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and generating 2D manufacturing drawings.
• MS in mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for systems using 3D CAD; ensure robustness and manufacturability.
• Create and evaluate proof-of-concepts; coordinate with machine shops for fabrication.
• Support design validation including thermal analysis and reliability testing.
• Assist assembly and integration for internal or external builds; perform rapid failure analysis.
