Job summary

Apple Inc. seeks a Sensing Product Design Architecture Engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to lead architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of sensing modules.

You will drive design choices using advanced analytical methods and collaborate with a multifunctional team across engineering disciplines. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, robust tolerance analysis, and establishing foundational performance for products used by millions worldwide.

Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Deep understanding of advanced mechanical engineering principles (solid mechanics, materials science, heat transfer)
• Proven experience with data-driven design using statistical analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo, DoE) and tolerance analysis
• Experience designing for a high-volume production environment; consumer electronics or sensing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of advanced sensing modules.
• Proactively identify, quantify, and mitigate complex mechanical risks and design trade-offs early in the product development lifecycle through rigorous analytical modeling and simulation.
• Work with cross-functional teams to generate design concepts and quantify performance impacts through analytical models.
• Clearly articulate complex technical concepts, analysis results, and design recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Drive consensus on optimal architectural solutions, fostering collaborative decision-making.
