Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to maintain customer environments, troubleshoot, and migrate systems using tape save/restore or replication. You’ll work with z Series, Virtual Tape, Fiber, and networked Mainframe connectivity to ensure operability and performance.

The role requires 10+ years of Mainframe experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. Remote work from multiple states is supported with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Mainframe systems engineering experience.
• Proven expertise with z/OS and major subsystems.
• Strong communication and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform reporting functions for customers as required.
• Support cases and incidents not solvable by Ops.
• Install, maintain and configure ISV products.
• Assist with hardware configuration and upgrades.
• Migrate customer environments with minimal impact.
• Write and maintain system documentation.
• Work with customers on migration to FNTS or remote management.
• Implement technologies per team roadmap and harness new hardware/OS capabilities.
• Install new OS and major subsystem releases with testing and timing.
• Maintain golden/sandbox templates and participate as Mainframe SME.
• Occasional after-hours and weekend support.
