Job summary

Office of Shared Administration (WV) in West Virginia is seeking a Youth Services Social Worker to provide professional social services to youth and families, while serving as a lead worker who mentors staff and coordinates with child protective services and community partners.

The role requires conducting intakes, assessments, case planning, and referrals, with travel across assigned areas. A Bachelor's degree and valid driver's license are required; licensure within WV is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to document clearly.
• Lead worker responsibilities including mentoring staff.
• Travel and use of personal vehicle as required.
• Public service background in youth/family services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional social services to youth and their families
• Serve as a lead worker, providing guidance, mentoring, and assistance to assigned staff
• Conduct intakes, assessments, case planning, and service referrals
• Coordinate with child protective services, foster care, legal guardianship, and community partners
• Support youth who may pose a risk due to mental, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Ensure youth are served in the least restrictive environment possible
• Maintain accurate and thorough case documentation
• Respond to on-call situations outside of normal business hours, as required
• Travel extensively using a personal vehicle to serve youth across assigned areas
