Job summary

Cummins Inc. in York, SC is seeking a Senior YDA Manufacturing Engineer to lead assembly processes on the YDA axle line. You will optimize tooling, controls, and work instructions, while driving safety, quality, and efficiency across manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Own and support manufacturing processes across the YDA axle assembly line.
• Hands-on DC fastening tools and torque systems with controller integration.
• Translate product changes into manufacturing requirements and updates.
• Maintain manufacturing controls and traceability systems (PLC/HMI, MES).
• Lead root-cause analysis, PFMEA, and corrective actions for defects.
• Monitor KPIs: RFT, FPY, downtime, scrap, cycle time, throughput.
• Drive equipment reliability and SQDC objectives in a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure stable production and successful launches.

Responsibilities

• Own YDA Assembly Performance: drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and reliability.
• Apply tooling and torque systems expertise to ensure proper assembly.
• Implement changes by updating tooling, controls, and work instructions.
• Lead quality improvement via Poka-Yoke and PFMEA initiatives.
• Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs and process capability.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and operations.
