The Baillie Group, a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer, seeks an experienced Yard Manager to oversee daily operations at our Superior Hardwoods location in Montezuma, IN. This role coordinates lumber receiving, handling, stacking, drying, grading, inventory, packaging and shipping while leading a large team.

The Yard Manager will drive productivity, ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery, and align with plant management, sales, maintenance and administration to maintain smooth

Competenze

• 3+ years managing a team in industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Hands-on leadership to balance productivity with safety and quality

Mansioni

• Oversee daily yard operations from lumber receiving through shipping
• Lead a large team including supervisors, operators and graders
• Set daily goals and metrics for productivity, quality, uptime and inventory accuracy
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling and resource allocation
• Work with plant management, sawmill operations, sales, shipping and maintenance
• Maintain quality controls for handling, storage, drying and grading
• Promote safety and maintain an organized work environment
• Identify operational challenges and implement improvements
• Communicate facility needs to maintenance and procurement
• Adjust plans based on production schedules and inventory levels
