Job summary

JLR North America in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Senior XIL Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain real-time XIL test environments (MIL, SIL, HIL) for validating Assisted & Automated Driving features. You will architect scalable simulations and lead cross-functional teams to ensure robust validation capabilities.

The role requires model-based development with MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and experience with HIL platforms and AUTOSAR.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience developing XIL test environments (MIL, SIL, HIL, or VIL).
• Strong expertise in model-based development using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and real-time simulation tools.
• Experience with HIL platforms, vehicle networks, diagnostics protocols, AUTOSAR frameworks, and virtual vehicle simulation environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and ASAM OpenX standards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to explain complex tech to stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, lead technical activities, and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design XIL (MIL, SIL, HIL) test environments and real-time simulation models for AAD feature validation.
• Deliver scalable virtual validation solutions aligned with architectural requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Test Platform, System Test, Modelling & Simulation, and XIL Execution teams for integration.
• Provide technical leadership and advanced troubleshooting for complex XIL issues.
• Manage supplier, facility, and stakeholder interactions for safe, reliable test environments.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance test efficiency and product quality.
• Share technical updates and best practices across the AAD Validation & Verification community.
