Job summary

Paramount Field Services is seeking a Senior Landman to lead title research, curative work, and client-facing land services across West Virginia. The role requires independent title examination, drafting and negotiating oil and gas contracts, and serving as the primary client contact through the engagement.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of landman experience focused on oil and gas title work, proficiency with title software and GIS tools, and the ability to travel regularly.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience as a landman focused on oil and gas title work.
• Experience handling title matters in West Virginia specifically.
• Ability to independently run title and resolve curative issues.
• Drafting and negotiating oil and gas leases and related land contracts.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship management.
• Knowledge of WV county recording systems and courthouse procedures.
• Proficiency with title software, GIS mapping tools, and standard office software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly (multi-day trips).
• RPL designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct title examinations and prepare runsheets, ownership reports, and title opinions for WV properties.
• Research county records to establish chain of title and identify curative needs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate leases, farmout agreements, division orders, ROWs, and related contracts.
• Resolve title defects through curative work and related documents.
• Serve as primary client contact, providing status updates and managing expectations.
• Mentor junior landmen and contract landmen on projects.
• Manage multiple projects across counties and adjust to varying recording practices.
• Prepare acquisition/divestiture packages and due diligence summaries as needed.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure timely delivery to clients and stakeholders.
• Stay current on WV oil and gas law and industry standards.
