Southern Company is seeking an analytics professional to join the Workforce Planning & Analytics team. The role blends technical analytics with strategic advisory, exploring data to uncover integrity issues and surface meaningful insights before questions arise.

Responsibilities include testing dashboards, identifying anomalies, and delivering advanced analyses to guide data-informed workforce decisions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years analytics experience with ability to identify, interpret and visualize complex data to generate actionable insights.
• Advanced analytical skills and comfort navigating large, multifaceted datasets and dashboards in a dynamic analytics environment.
• Meticulous data validation, testing and quality assurance.
• Strong storytelling to connect data to strategic objectives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration, translating technical findings for non-technical audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing of workforce analytics dashboards and reporting tools for accuracy and usability.
• Analyze workforce data to identify anomalies and emerging trends, surfacing insights early.
• Act as a SME and power user of analytics platforms, improving end-user experience.
• Develop strategic analyses using workforce data and integrate supplementary sources.
• Query, validate and reconcile data across multiple systems using Excel, Power BI and Oracle.
• Identify and troubleshoot data discrepancies, collaborating with tech teams to fix root causes.
• Translate complex data into clear insights through storytelling and visualization.
• Create PowerPoint presentations to communicate insights to leaders and stakeholders.
• Partner with business teams to ensure analytics aligns with priorities.
