Job summary

Great American Insurance Group’s Strategic Comp unit seeks a Senior Claims Specialist to manage Kansas and Missouri workers' compensation claims remotely. You’ll investigate, determine compensability, establish reserves, negotiate settlements, and drive timely resolutions within Central Time business hours.

This role requires 10+ years of KC/MO workers' comp claims experience, deep knowledge of local laws, and strong communication with claimants, insurers, employers, and counsel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Kansas and Missouri workers' compensation claims adjusting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kansas and Missouri workers' compensation laws and practices.
• Professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Kansas and Missouri workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution.
• Analyze claim facts and evaluate coverage, compensability, and benefits eligibility.
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve timely and favorable claim outcomes.
• Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves.
• Negotiate settlements and bring about claim resolution.
• Communicate regularly with claimants, insureds, employers, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and present large loss reports to internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with defense counsel on litigation strategy and claim resolution.
