Job summary

Strategic Comp in the United States (Pacific Region) is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to investigate and adjust workers' compensation claims with high exposure, primarily from home with occasional travel within the Pacific Region and Pacific Time Zone business hours.

The role requires California license on adjuster and 10+ years of experience in high-exposure claims. Work hours align with Pacific Time. Strong communication skills and the Associate in Claims designation are a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience, or at least 7+ years of proven success in California workers' compensation claims adjusting with higher exposure claims
• Current California workers' compensation adjustment license
• Ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours
• Industry designation such as Associate in Claims is strongly considered
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with a variety of internal and external contacts

Responsibilities

• Investigate losses
• Analyze coverage, determine compensability and benefits
• Establish reserves and negotiate settlements
• Conduct meetings on the phone with insureds and claimants
• Prepare large loss reports for internal and external audiences
• Attend settlement conferences as assigned
• Work closely with defense attorneys and other vendors, including medical case management, surveillance, etc.
