Job summary

Berkley Industrial Comp in New Jersey seeks an Associate Underwriter to support renewal review, quoting and retention for workers’ compensation business. You will collaborate with underwriting and business engagement teams to help achieve strong renewal outcomes and exceptional client service.

The role handles claims across jurisdictions with exposure up to $250,000, coordinating with risk management, clients, and vendors to control costs while maintaining compliance and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Five (5) years minimum adjusting workers’ compensation claims, ten years preferred.
• Active adjuster license in applicable jurisdictions or obtained within one year.

Responsibilities

• Manage lost time and medical claims up to $250k exposure across jurisdictions.
• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims with underwriters and clients.
• Coordinate with attorneys, vendors and risk management to control costs and losses.
• Provide leadership within the claims department and oversee large loss claims.
