Job summary

Acadia Insurance is seeking a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Representative to investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims in accordance with company standards and state requirements. The role emphasizes effective communication with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and agents.

The candidate will conduct detailed investigations, negotiate settlements, and manage litigated cases from inception to closure, while maintaining thorough documentation and collaboration with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of Workers’ Compensation Lost Time claims handling experience in NH/ME/VT/NY.
• Strong negotiation and claims resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex workload independently and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate and resolve claims in accordance with company standards, procedures, and state regulatory requirements.
• Communicate conclusions and reserves clearly to insureds, claimants and attorneys.
• Conduct detailed claim investigations including on-site examinations when appropriate.
• Negotiate settlements and manage litigated files from inception to closure.
• Maintain documentation in a paperless claim system and produce periodic reports.
