Old Republic Commercial Risk is seeking a claims professional to independently investigate, evaluate and resolve high‑complex workers’ compensation claims. You will administer and resolve claims in line with statutes, policy provisions and company guidelines, contributing to timely outcomes.

You will collaborate with PMA nurses to design return‑to‑work strategies, determine coverage and reserves, and communicate clearly with clients and vendors to negotiate settlements and manage case

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four+ years of equivalent work experience in an insurance-related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience handling lost-time workers’ compensation claims, including MD/DC/WV/PA jurisdiction.
• Active license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment in mandated states.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and Workers' Compensation.

Responsabilités

• Investigate and resolve complex workers' compensation claims with minimal supervision.
• Determine coverage, compensability, and subrogation potential; set reserves.
• Communicate with clients and vendors; negotiate settlements with approvals.
• Develop return-to-work strategies and manage medical/disability plans.
• Stay current with jurisdictional requirements and case law for serviced states.
• Provide timely denial or payment of benefits per requirements.
• Travel for business approximately less than 10%.
