Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk is seeking an experienced claims professional to independently investigate, evaluate and resolve high-complexity workers' compensation claims. You will determine coverage, assess reserves, negotiate settlements, and coordinate return-to-work plans with PMA nurse professionals.

Travel may be required to client sites. You will work within statutory and company guidelines, maintaining accuracy and strong customer service in every interaction with clients, adjusters,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of equivalent work experience in an insurance-related industry.
• TX experience is required.
• License required or ability to obtain license within 90 days of employment in mandated states.
• Familiarity with workers' compensation and jurisdiction-specific regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Investigates assigned claims with minimal supervision, including complex cases.
• Determines coverage, compensability, and subrogation potential.
• Alerts supervisors to potentially suspect claims.
• Manages reserves with justification and adjusts over the life of the claim.
• Negotiates settlements within granted authority.
• Develops action plans for case resolution including medical and disability management.
• Collaborates with nurses to develop return-to-work strategies.
• Manages vendors to balance cost and loss outcomes.
• Maintains knowledge of jurisdictional requirements and case law.
