Job summary

You will work with internal and external experts, including legal counsel, conduct thorough evaluations, set reserves, and guide junior handlers. This onsite, full-time position requires licensing and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years of workers compensation claims handling with an insurer.
• Must possess/state adjuster licenses and CE credits.
• Skilled in negotiating complex claims and influencing outcomes.
• Strong judgment on high-exposure cases including litigation and compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Highly organized with strong time and desk management; mentorship.
• Knowledge of regulatory environment and jurisdictional requirements.
• Empathetic customer service and escalation management.
• Able to work on-site and travel as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company in claims litigation forums while upholding professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue reservation of rights and coverage letters.
• Identify opportunities to transfer risk and pursue subrogation.
• Resolve disputes and negotiate favorable outcomes.
• Set reserves and authorize payments within authority.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.
• Mentor junior claim handlers and share best practices.
• Support training and development materials.
