Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a diligent Work Expeditor to join the Work Window Planning Team in Niskayuna, NY. The role focuses on ensuring timely ordering, tracking, and delivery of parts and materials to support scheduled and emergent work.

You will review incoming work requests, assign tasks, coordinate with supervisors, and maintain accurate labor and materials records in our systems. Strong communication and data accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6–8 years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree with 6+ years; or Journeyman's Papers with 6+ years; or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator qualification with 6+ years; or a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years.
• Experience in work window planning, scheduling, and coordination in a heavy-industrial setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of work management systems and material tracking.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure parts and materials are ordered, tracked, and delivered to the shop.
• Review work requests and assign tasks to appropriate groups (gatekeeping).
• Coordinate with supervisors to track progress and close out tasks.
• Record labor hours in work management systems for completed and planned tasks.
• Assist during large work evolutions with scheduling and sequencing.
• Reconcile data to ensure accurate task status, labor, and documentation.
• Maintain timely task updates for planning, reporting, and execution.
• Support continuous improvement of work control and task management processes.
