Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc is actively seeking a Work Control Planner 4 in Los Alamos, NM. The role focuses on developing and reviewing work packages with time, material, and labor estimates, and creating detailed instructions to control operations and maintenance in complex facilities.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with substantial related experience and strong knowledge of work control, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 12 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Unique knowledge of and broad experience with work control, materials management and mechanical maintenance.
• Extensive knowledge of hazards, safety practices and lock-out/tag-out policies.
• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics.
• Ability to use a computerized work management system for planning activities.
• Experience in researching solutions and recommending actions for complex problems.
• Ability to convey major work-control concepts to technical and non-technical staff.
• Self-supervision capability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue work packages for unique and/or complex maintenance activities.
• Analyze time and material requirements for activities.
• Develop step-by-step instructions for work.
• Manage and expedite priority of work packages.
• Prepare isolation or de-energization instructions as required.
• Coordinate permit development, testing requirements and training.
• Ensure safety, security and regulatory compliance in tasks.
• Maintain quality and complete work per requirements.
