Job summary

Day Wireless Systems in Salem, OR is seeking a skilled technician for system design, installation, and ongoing maintenance of 2-way and wireless communication systems. You will optimize and repair complex radio networks for customers, including 911 communications centers, across on-site deployments.

The role requires hands-on installation and troubleshooting, with duties ranging from dispatch consoles to antenna systems.

Qualifications

Three to five years of experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory; proficient in diagnostics and repair.
Associate degree or equivalent preferred but not required in electronics and wireless system repair.
Experience diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and programming wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, and antennas.
Familiarity with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems; knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC/AC, and RF theory.

Responsibilities

Install and provide technical support for VHF/UHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, including mobile and portable subscriber equipment.
Maintain communications console equipment, diagnose and repair public address systems, emergency vehicle siren and lighting systems.
Install, maintain, and repair base systems, repeaters, remote controls, multiplexers, antenna systems, microwave systems, battery backup systems, and solar power systems.
Willingness to work after normal business hours when necessary.
Assist with training of Apprentices and Journeyman Technicians when necessary.
Provide technical support via in-person, phone, email, or at the company shop location.
