Job summary

State of Oregon’s Department of Transportation in Bend seeks a Senior Wireless Systems Specialist (Radio) to lead and maintain critical statewide radio systems. You’ll diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore complex wireless infrastructure, guiding teams through high-priority projects and coordinating with multiple agencies.

You’ll work in a mission-focused environment with opportunities to grow skills in RF, dispatch systems, and field operations, supporting public safety communications statewide.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of information systems experience in wireless systems.
• OR an associate’s degree in information technology, IT or related field + 3 years of wireless systems experience.
• OR a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field + 1 year of wireless systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose user problems on the statewide Public Safety Wireless system.
• Troubleshoot major system failures of state-wide voice, data radios, microwave systems, and dispatch consoles.
• Lead and coordinate with Wireless staff on complex system repairs and restoration.
