Senior Wireless Communications Systems Engineer
Join E-Space as a Senior Wireless Communications Systems Engineer. E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper‑scaled IoT deployments via a low Earth orbit satellite constellation.
Responsibilities
- Model and simulate physical layer communication systems for LEO satellite networks.
- Develop and implement mathematical models of modulation, coding, synchronization, and channel estimation.
- Use simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, etc.) to evaluate and optimize system performance under various conditions.
- Analyze physical layer impairments, suggest mitigation techniques, and perform link budget, throughput, latency, and error rate analysis.
- Design architecture and algorithms for physical layer modems, develop prototypes, and conduct lab tests to validate performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams to integrate the modem into the payload and support system integration and field trials.
- Document design processes, simulation results, performance evaluations, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in communication theory, DSP, and wireless communications.
- Strong background in modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB or Simulink.
- Experience designing and developing physical layer modems for satellite or LEO networks.
- Proficiency with FEC design, modulation and demodulation, synchronization, and channel estimation.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with C/C++, Python, or VHDL/Verilog is preferred.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field is a plus.
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of 3GPP standards, preferably 5GNR.
- Experience with modern coding techniques such as LDPC, Turbo Codes, or Polar Codes.
- Experience with hardware implementation and testing of communication systems.
- Familiarity with software‑defined radio (SDR) platforms and tools.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, or VHDL/Verilog.
