Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Senior Application Engineer in Willimantic, CT to lead cross‑functional product development across multiple plants. You will drive from concept through qualification, coordinating with engineering, quality, sales, and standards bodies to deliver optimized wire and cable solutions.

You will influence decisions, manage timelines and budgets, and collaborate with standards organizations to gain approvals. Some travel is required to support trials and customer engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing, product development, or product design experience.
• Direct experience in wire and cable industries.
• Demonstrated leadership influencing cross-functional teams as an individual contributor.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of industrial and building wire products across multiple plants.
• Coordinate production trials, troubleshoot issues, and guide teams toward solutions.
• Influence decisions across engineering, quality, sales, and external standards bodies.
• Manage the full product development lifecycle from concept through qualification and launch.
• Collaborate with UL, CSA, and other standards bodies to ensure compliance and support product approvals.
• Support sales meetings with technical presentations and identify new development opportunities.
• Act as project manager—tracking timelines, costs, risks, and trial outcomes.
