Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to lead development for low voltage tray cable, medium voltage, and building wire. You will design and run research projects, partner with product management, and drive cost-saving material/process improvements.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, visit customers to support sales, launch new products, and provide training to teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and product development/design.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma problem-solving methods.
• Willingness to travel about 10%.

Job description

Senior Product Development Engineer leads product development for low voltage tray cable, medium voltage, and building wire. The role involves designing and running research projects to improve or create new products and processes, partnering with product management to identify gaps and opportunities in offerings, and helping reduce costs by introducing new materials and processes. You will collaborate with manufacturing to solve production challenges and improve designs, visit customers to support sales, launch products, and explore new development opportunities, and provide technical support across sales, marketing, and manufacturing. Responsibilities include coordinating product trials, representing Prysmian at industry events and standards organizations (UL and CSA), acting as a bridge between manufacturing and product teams to stay ahead of market trends, sharing technical updates with sales teams to unlock new business opportunities, and delivering training on new products and applications to internal teams and customers. The candidate will work closely with the Product Development Manager and be involved in every stage of product development - gathering requirements and improving designs to supporting new product launches. A dynamic mix of hand-on work (factory trials and lab testing) and strategic cross-department collaboration is expected.
