Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Systems Architect Senior to lead enterprise Windows and VMware environments, ensuring secure, cost-efficient operations aligned with regulatory requirements. The role focuses on OS deployments, security architecture, hybrid cloud, and on-premises virtualization, collaborating across multiple teams to maintain high availability and compliance.

The position reports to the Manager of Windows and VMware Services within HITS EI and oversees a large fleet of Windows

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years engineering support of large, highly available Windows architectures (2016/2022/2025).
• 5+ years in enterprise architecture-related roles.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level expertise on enterprise systems architecture decisions (Public/Hybrid Cloud, Windows OS, VMware, Automation).
• Partner with analysts and engineers to gather requirements and design integrated solutions.
• Develop and maintain architecture artifacts and technical standards.
