Job summary

GCyber is seeking a Windows System Administrator to own the Windows environment for our government customer in Arlington, VA. This night shift role focuses on Windows Server infrastructure within a mixed-OS environment.

You will lead design, implementation, and operations, monitor health and performance, and drive lifecycle activities such as patching and migrations. A TS/SCI clearance and a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• IAT II Certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) recommended/required.
• Strong experience administering Windows Server environments.
• Deep understanding of core Windows services and system management.
• Working knowledge of Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior lead and SME for all Windows Server environments; drive strategy and operational excellence.
• Design, architect, implement, and sustain enterprise Windows infrastructure.
• Own health, performance, and availability of Windows systems; monitor trends and implement improvements.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident resolution with root cause analysis.
• Establish and enforce enterprise standards, baselines, and hardening guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to system administrators and engineers.
• Lead system lifecycle activities: patching, upgrades, migrations, modernization.
• Provide cross-platform support by performing basic Linux administration and coordinating with Linux SMEs.
