Job summary

GCyber is seeking a Windows System Administrator to own the Windows environment for our government customer in Arlington, VA. This night-shift role (12:00pm–8:00pm) focuses on a mixed-OS infrastructure and high operational excellence.

You will lead Windows design and lifecycle activities, mentor staff, and coordinate with Linux SMEs for cross-platform support, while ensuring security baselines and compliant practices.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• IAT II Certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Deep understanding of Windows services and system management.
• Working knowledge of Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for Windows Server environments, driving strategy and operational excellence.
• Design, architect, implement, and sustain enterprise Windows infrastructure.
• Own health, performance and availability of Windows systems; monitor and improve trends.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident resolution with deep root cause analysis.
• Establish enterprise standards, baselines, and hardening guidelines per security/compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to admins and engineers.
• Plan and execute system lifecycle activities: patching, upgrades, migrations, modernization.
• Provide cross-platform support by performing basic Linux admin and coordinating with Linux SMEs.
