Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a System Administrator to support DOE’s on-prem infrastructure. The role focuses on Windows Server administration, backups, incident response, and ongoing security posture maintenance in a government environment.

The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of IT experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and either a CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification; U.S. citizenship is required for federal work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• CompTIA A+ or ITIL certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or related field.
• U.S. citizens with ability to pass a federal background investigation for access to government systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server 2019/2022 environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, security patches, and maintenance.
• Monitor backup/storage systems, troubleshoot alerts, and ensure recovery readiness.
• Perform vulnerability scanning/remediation using Tenable/Nessus; collaborate with EITS on scan outcomes.
• Support high level incident response, triage issues, and document remediation actions.
• Participate in infrastructure initiatives (e.g., Windows 2016 retirement, IIS/logging enhancements) and prepare security authorization evidence.
• Support security hygiene through service account review and password rotation coordination.
• Contribute to documentation and Records Management across CMEI program offices.
