Job summary

IPT Associates (IPTA) seeks a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to join our Radford, VA team. You will manage and support Windows Server environments for multiple clients, deploying and maintaining servers, automating tasks with PowerShell, and upholding security and operational standards.

The role requires 5+ years in Windows systems administration, 3+ years of automation with PowerShell, and strong experience with AD, GPO, and server applications (IIS/Apache).

Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+
• Computing environment certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+, CCNA, Red Hat, Palo Alto), or the ability to get one within 30 days of starting
• Experience in computer science or IT
• Active Security Clearance Required
• 5+ years as a Windows systems administrator or engineer, including 3+ years automating tasks with PowerShell
• 5+ years installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex applications and websites (IIS, Apache, etc.)
• 5+ years in complex networking environments, with senior-level knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and SNMP
• 5+ years managing enterprise Active Directory
• 5+ years creating and maintaining complex Microsoft Group Policy setups
• 5+ years creating and following SOPs for repeatable processes, disaster recovery, and problem resolution
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-player attitude

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement new system hardware and software
• Write and maintain technical instructions, operating procedures, and policies
• Monitor and tune performance, harden servers, and report on security and operational status
• Recommend enterprise improvements, manage integrations, and write utilization reports
• Support the lifecycle of datacenter equipment, including firmware version control and preventive maintenance

Position Summary
