Job summary

Amentum seeks a System Administrator 2 for a mission-critical program based out of Columbia, Maryland. The role supports IT systems across UNIX and Windows environments, with Tier I/II incident handling and strong emphasis on reliability and performance. A TS/SCI clearance and DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 are required.

The position demands extensive experience on complex contracts and a bachelor’s degree in a technical field; substitutions to fourteen years of experience are allowed in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

• Ten years’ System Administrator experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; four additional SA years may substitute for a total of fourteen years of experience.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level 1 is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Manage day-to-day operations and monitoring of client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Provide Tier I and Tier II problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
• Communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows OS and related components to improve reliability and performance.
• Perform system capacity analysis and planning; optimize resource utilization.
• Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
