Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Senior Windows Platform Engineer to ensure peak performance of the company’s on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. The role offers technical mentorship and drives automation, configuration, and disaster recovery initiatives.

You will design high-availability solutions, automate Windows Server provisioning with PowerShell and DSC, and participate in incident management while collaborating with operations, vendors, and security teams in a hybrid LA environment.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of Windows Server or Systems Engineer experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Hands-on with Windows Server OS including pre-build planning, server builds, post-build configuration, and lifecycle refreshes.
• Experience with automation, PowerShell, DSC, event automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience supporting incident management, critical incidents, P1 response, troubleshooting, and service restoration.
• Experience designing server architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure infrastructure standards.
• Solid grasp of monitoring, analysis, management, configuration, event management, and automation tools.
• Deep hands-on Windows Server experience including pre- and post-installation configuration and cloud architecture.
• Experience with backup software and clustering/high-availability software.
• Familiarity with Java and middleware; IIS experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE; MCSE/AWS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex system-level proofs of concept and prototypes.
• Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources and related services.
• Perform cloud environment buildouts, site setup, user training, and documentation.
• Design and implement automated Windows Server provisioning and post-build configuration (PowerShell/DSC).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve security and efficiency.
• Design high-availability solutions and disaster recovery standards.
• Coordinate with operations, vendors, and manufacturers to restore service and communicate status.
• Provide on-call or after-hours support for critical infrastructure incidents.
