Job summary

Voith US Inc. is seeking a Winder Field Service Expert to perform mechanical, technological, and process services for winders.

This role provides on-site and remote technical support, conducts maintenance shutdowns, and oversees installations and rebuilds following Voith guidelines. The position requires travel up to 60% to customer sites (Canada/Mexico included), strong ability to interpret drawings, and initiative to work independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Paper Technology, or related field with 3+ years in maintenance or service of winders.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% to customer sites, including Canada and Mexico.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of winders, slitting, web handling, and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly blueprints; proficient with Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote mechanical and process field services for winders.
• Analyze winding parameters to optimize performance and quality.
• Plan service execution with required materials, tools, and drawings.
• Supervise third-party installation work and Voith teams for precise assembly.
• Conduct winder audits at customer sites to identify upgrades.
• Generate detailed technical reports with data, photos, and part lists.
• Train customer staff and mentor junior team members.
• Support commercial efforts in estimating time and resources.
