Position Summary

This position is responsible for daily operations and maintenance of wind turbines. The candidate will have specialized technical expertise and will assist in training and mentoring crews of up to 20 members. Extensive travel throughout the United States is required. A 'safety first' attitude and a commitment to doing the job right the first time are essential.

Primary Job Responsibilities

1. Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
2. Work in and around wind turbines, including climbing towers daily.
3. Interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
4. Install, inspect, maintain, operate, and repair wind turbines.
5. Diagnose and resolve issues that could cause turbine shutdowns or malfunctions.
6. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems.
7. Service underground transmission systems, substations, and fiber optic systems.
8. Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
9. Provide technical support to ensure product quality and compliance.
10. Conduct onsite audits and implement necessary changes.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum five years of wind turbine experience or two years with relevant degree/certification.
• Technical degree or certification related to mechanical maintenance or wind energy preferred.
• Experience with power and hydraulic tools.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

• Ability to climb up to 125 meters and work in demanding weather conditions.
• Ability to work remotely and with limited supervision.
• Maintain necessary safety certifications (First Aid/CPR, Tower Climb and Rescue, LOTO, ArcFlash, etc.).
• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Basic math and technical reading skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic tension and torque tools, rotor lockout procedures, and chain hoist usage.
