Your Impact

The Travel Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician, Level II in the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout the United States. This is a 100% travel role across the U.S. with candidates ideally residing in the Richmond, VA area.

Core Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
• Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
• Interact with vendors and customers professionally.
• Support site work, including supervising field work onsite with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  
  

Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical proficiency related to electrical systems and components.
• 2+ years of renewable energy experience (wind, solar, or battery preferred).
• Strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and problem recognition skills.
• Post-secondary education is preferred.
• Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA70E are preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to meet EHS requirements.

Physical & Work Environment

Candidates must comply with OSHA Standards. Preference for residents of Richmond, VA. Must have a valid driver’s license for at least one year. The role involves rotating shifts and 100% travel across the U.S., with physical demands including prolonged standing and working in varied climates.

Compensation: $25.00-$29.00 hourly/DOE and Per Diem
