Job Description Summary

GE’s Vernova’s Onshore Wind Services team is growing fast and will continue to rise steadily in the coming years. As we grow and develop new and existing wind sites, Digital Services has an ongoing need to build our field teams with individuals who possess strong leadership capabilities, a willingness to learn, contribute, and grow. Training, safety, and career progression are central to our initiatives to provide opportunities and expansion.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with site/hub leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements, including electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbines.
  • Apply extensive understanding of variable pitch & speed turbines and converter parts.
  • Read, interpret, and explain schematics, drawings, manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  • Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety processes and regulations, along with all applicable compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on turbines.
  • Assist in site operations as directed, observing all safety standards.
  • Perform diagnostic analysis and develop plans for resolution.
  • Document all work using computer-based reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center as needed.
  • Mentor peers and support all site operational tasks.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of wind troubleshooting experience, or at least 1 year in EHS, SQC, Lead roles, or 5 years of wind troubleshooting experience.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100%.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments including industrial and manufacturing facilities.
  • Proactive, able to prioritize, and work independently.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts and be on-call.
Desired Characteristics
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field.
  • Technical certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronics.
  • Experience working with various personnel levels and wind turbines.
  • Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic experience, and use of hydraulic tools.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, cranes, and rigging.

This posting is expected to close no earlier than May 1, 2025. The pay range is $33.70-$41.52 per hour. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and other employee benefits.
