Job summary

Dudek is seeking a mid- to senior-level Wildfire Resilience Planner to join our fire protection and wildfire planning team on a full-time basis in California. You will lead CWPPs, WRAs, and VMPs, shaping practical, implementation-focused plans for communities, agencies, and landowners.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of wildfire resilience planning, strong project management, and the ability to communicate complex risk to diverse audiences. Travel across California may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related planning or environmental field.
• At least 8 years of wildfire resilience/planning experience.
• Experience leading CWPPs, WRAs, VMPs or equivalent plans.
• Proven project management across scopes, schedules, budgets.
• Experience pursuing RFPs and competitive proposals.
• Ability to supervise staff and ensure quality across projects.
• Strong writing, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of CEQA/NEPA related to wildfire measures.

Responsibilities

• Lead CWPPs, WRAs, VMPs, and other wildfire resilience plans.
• Develop scopes, schedules, staffing plans, labor estimates, budgets.
• Lead capture planning, proposals, interviews, and negotiations.
• Serve as project manager and primary client contact.
• Supervise multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct wildfire risk and community resilience assessments.
• Translate findings into prioritized vegetation management recommendations.
• Design engagement with fire and land-management agencies.
• Lead QA/QC for analyses, maps, costs, and implementation strategies.
• Present methods and findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Support grant applications and funding strategies.
• Stay updated on wildfire policy and funding programs.
