Job summary

Collins Aerospace – Avionics is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to lead safety engineering activities across complex Air Traffic Management programs within the Connected Aviation ATS Whole Life Engineering organization. The Senior Safety Engineer will drive system safety planning, interface closely with design teams, and deliver safety‑related documentation across the full system lifecycle.

The role requires a strong understanding of hazard assessment and safety standards to ensure Collins ATS

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with software, hardware, and personnel safety.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.

Collins Aerospace – Avionics has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Safety Engineer to lead safety engineering activities across complex Air Traffic Management (ATM) programs and products within the Connected Aviation Air Traffic Systems (ATS) Whole Life Engineering (WLE) organization. The Senior Safety Engineer will drive system safety planning, interface closely with design teams, and deliver safety‑related documentation and analyses across the full system lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of system safety, hazard assessment, and safety‑related standards to ensure Collins ATS solutions continue to advance safe, modernized Air Traffic Management capabilities.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
