Job summary

Landmark, a Halliburton business line, seeks a Senior Well Engineering Modeling & Simulation Technologist to develop advanced well‑engineering models, numerical simulations, and optimization workflows for well design and drilling applications.

You will collaborate across technology, product, software development and customer teams to translate research into deployable software, support gas migration and well‑control modeling, and contribute to AI‑enabled automation while maintaining model

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Science, Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• Minimum of four years of related experience.
• Experience applying engineering or scientific principles to models, simulations, products, or software‑based workflows.
• Capability in numerical modeling, engineering simulation, applied mathematics, optimization, scientific computing, or AI‑assisted workflows.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems, document assumptions and results, and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work with technology leadership, product teams, software developers, and stakeholders on projects of moderate scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced well‑engineering models, numerical simulation methods, and optimization capabilities for well design, drilling, well control, and related applications.
• Translate research findings into tested, maintainable software capabilities.
• Design automated well‑design and optimization workflows, including AI‑enabled methods alongside established models.
• Support gas migration and well‑control modeling with formulation, implementation, sensitivity analysis, and interpretation of results.
• Maintain and enhance core engineering models used in Landmark well‑engineering technologies.
• Verify and validate models and software with calculations, benchmarks, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, SMEs, and customer teams to define requirements and prioritize improvements.
• Integrate security, data protection, traceability, and responsible tech considerations in designs.
