This position is located within the Gas Standards Engineering department supporting the company's Gas Operations. Gas Operations activities include engineering, construction, maintenance, and safe operation of approximately 5,700 miles of gas transmission pipelines and 42,000 miles of gas distribution pipelines serving 4.4 million gas customers throughout northern and central California.
This position reports to the Supervisor of Standards Engineering and is responsible for developing and maintaining effective gas standards and procedures that enable PG&E to meet or exceed compliance with applicable codes and regulations and ensure public and employee safety. The role requires providing clear, understandable gas standards aligned with operator qualifications (OQs) and training. Excellence in execution is essential for PG&E to become a leading utility in the U.S.
Incumbent may need a valid California driver's license on day one. The position requires approximately 10% travel. It is a hybrid role, working remotely and at the assigned location within PG&E's service territory, initially San Ramon, possibly Oakland in the future.
The estimated salary range for this role in the Bay Area is $109,000 to $175,000, depending on skills, experience, and other factors. The role is eligible for incentive programs.
Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent, 8 years relevant experience
Desired: AA degree, 5+ years as PG&E Journeyman Welder, familiarity with PG&E documents, AWS CWI, API 1169 certifications
