Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to serve as the welding quality authority across projects. You will write and review welding quality programs, supervise CWIs and Welding Inspectors, and approve WPS and welder qualifications.

This role audits fabricators, resolves disputed indications with engineers of record, and represents the company to engineers of record, owners, and building officials.

Qualifications

• AWS SCWI or CWI with 8+ years in welding inspection
• Experience supervising inspectors
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, API 1104
• Experience writing welding quality programs for structural/industrial/pipeline

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and approve welding quality plans and inspection procedures
• Supervise CWIs and Welding Inspectors across projects
• Review reports and calibrate calls; approve WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
• Audit fabricators and erectors' welding quality systems
• Witness or direct procedure qualification testing; qualify NDT subcontractors
• Represent the company in welding quality reviews
