Job summary

ITW in Troy, Ohio is seeking a Welding Engineer to drive welding process optimization, qualifications, and materials compliance for global products. You will collaborate across Operations, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, and Commercial teams to design solutions that support growth and customer success.

You will lead weld testing programs, perform material and process analyses, and apply AWS/ASME/ISO specs. Occasional travel to customer sites and Hobart facilities will broaden your experience.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with welding focus preferred.
• Knowledge of FCAW, GMAW, SMAW and SAW is a plus.
• Filler metal specs: AWS, ASME, ISO, Military preferred.
• Strong ability to lead, communicate and influence across functions (Engineering, Production, R&D, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computer and web-based tools.
• Ability to drive changes and work in demanding environments.
• Experience leading teams or supervising is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead weld quality compliance activities and QA testing upgrades.
• Support audits and lead corrective actions related to welding, materials and compliance.
• Develop, qualify and oversee weld testing programs to meet requirements.
• Analyze weld drift, chemistry and mechanical properties to mitigate risks.
• Implement ITW Toolbox techniques within quality, manufacturing and CI.
• Manage regulatory reviews for customer-specific orders.
• Interpret AWS, ASME, ISO, Military specs and codes.
• Travel to other Hobart facilities and customer sites as required.
