Job summary
Certerra Northwest, LLC. is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support inspection services in the Portland/Wilsonville, OR area.
This regular full-time role offers an hourly rate of $50.00–$55.00 and requires extensive field inspection on active construction sites with structural steel welding inspection experience. The candidate will read drawings and welding symbols, review WPS/PQR, verify field compliance with drawings and welding procedures, and document nonconforming work.
Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Strong field inspection experience on active construction sites.
- Structural steel and field welding inspection experience.
- Experience reviewing WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records.
- Familiarity with seismic force resisting systems and high-strength bolting.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret structural drawings, welding symbols and details.
- Verify field compliance with drawings, specifications and welding procedures.
- Document nonconforming workmanship with strong daily reporting.
- Inspect weld size, profile, fit-up, joint preparation and preheat/interpass temps.
- Coordinate with contractors, PMs and engineers; travel to project sites as needed.
