Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to lead welding quality across projects. You will write, review, and approve welding quality plans and NDT procedures while supervising CWIs and inspectors, ensuring compliance with AWS and ASME/API standards.

You will audit fabricators, approve qualification packages, and resolve disputed indications with engineers of record, acting as the welding memory for the program and coordinating with engineers and fabricators

Qualifications

AWS SCWI or current CWI with 8+ years of welding inspection leadership.
Experience writing welding quality programs for structural, industrial, or pipeline work.
Familiarity with the codes AWS D1.1, D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, and API 1104.

Responsibilities

Write, review, and approve welding quality plans, inspection procedures, and NDT procedures.
Supervise CWIs and Welding Inspectors across projects and review their reports.
Approve WPS, PQR, and welder qualification packages; witness procedure qualification testing.
Audit fabricators and erectors' welding quality systems; qualify NDT subcontractors.
Resolve disputed indications with engineers of record; represent the company in welding quality reviews.
Maintain welding quality program oversight and participate in ongoing audits.
